Sunday, March 17th 2019 - Friday, March 22nd 2019 (5 nights)
Hawaii is a land of natural beauty and wonder, a paradise in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean. Join Peter Walters and Nat Kendall as they come together for a retreat like no other on the northern shores of the Big Island of Hawaii! Join us for Hawaii Island Flow: Song of the Heart Retreat-- the THIRD annual adventure to the Big Island!
Peter will be leading the daily yoga classes while Nat shares his practice of Bhakti, mantra & philosophy during the classes and beyond.
While we provide two yoga classes and 3 meals per day, much of this time will be yours to disconnect so you can RE-connect with yourself. Between classes, feel free to explore the vast, beautiful retreat center property, adventure off to beaches, volcanoes, enjoy long drives around the island, or simply spend your time by the pool enjoying spa services or a good book. This is a week for you.
Location
This is an eco-friendly, purpose-built retreat center in Kohala, on the Big Island of Hawaii that features a boutique hotel fashioned after 19th century Hawaiian palaces. It strikes this perfect balance between luxury and rustic "home." There is a lovely courtyard, panoramic view of the ocean, salt-water infinity swimming pool, solar-heated hot tub, walking trails, and on-site spa treatments. The facility is located on 50+ acres and produces its own electricity (wind-generated) and organic food: fruits, vegetables, goat cheese and more. All meals are vegetarian and prepared in the fabulous kitchen by professional chefs that use the food grown on the property to create beautiful, delicious cuisine! Get ready-- you're in for a culinary treat! Visit www.hawaiiislandretreat.com to learn more about the retreat center and their offerings.
Practice
In the mornings, we will begin with a seated meditation, mantra and a mindful practice that will awaken and revitalize your body, open your heart and prepare you for a mindful day.
In the afternoons/early evenings we will have a second practice that is often more explorative, rigorous, playful and may involve other aspects of the practice including partner work, restorative yoga, pranayama, arm balances, inversions and, well, dance parties! Each practice will strike a balance between effort and ease, depth and play. It is suggested that you have taken a minimum of 10+ vinyasa yoga classes before attending this retreat. You will have at least 1 afternoon off to explore the island on your own or with your new friends!
Food
You will be fed very (VERY!) well with fresh, farm-to-table local ingredients-- most of which comes from the retreat center farm! This is a vegetarian retreat, and there will be vegan options, however eggs, milk, yogurt and butter will also be available. There will be plenty of high protein vegetarian options available daily.
Schedule
You’ll arrive on Sunday, March 17th and we’ll begin with an evening practice around 5pm to shake off the flight, an opening circle and dinner. You’ll depart on Friday, March 22nd after a morning practice & breakfast, all finishing around 11am. Between those dates, only Lord Krishna knows what will happen! :-) Join us!
